We're aware of scam emails being sent that impersonate MyCard asking customers to verify their account details to restore full access to their account. Do not click the link or provide any information.
- The email will say that we reached out regarding a manual verification required for your account and that we have temporarily limited certain card features. They will provide a link for you to click to restore the features by completing a verification process.
- Do not reply to the message, click the link or copy the URL into your browser and block the sender immediately.

Before you travel
There are known risks to using your card overseas such as card theft and skimming. Here are some steps you can take to ensure the safety of your MyCard account before you travel.
- Update your mobile number so we can reach you if we detect any irregular transactions on your account. This includes any mobile number you will be using while overseas, in addition to your Australian number.
- Memorise your PIN. Like Australia, many overseas countries will require a PIN when using your card to make purchases. You can change your PIN through the MyCard App or on MyCard Online.
- Ensure your SMS security number is up to date so we can send you a One Time PIN when overseas. An OTP is a one-time security code that is sent by SMS to your registered mobile phone. OTPs allow us to authenticate your identity before you log in, perform certain transactions or request changes to your account details.
- Set-up Autopay (Direct Debit) to ensure your minimum repayments or full closing balance are made by the due date each month. You can keep this service when you come back too.
- Set-up Digital Wallet for an easy and convenient payment alternative in the event your cards are lost or stolen overseas. Turn your mobile phone into a mobile wallet and experience a faster, more convenient way to pay.
